Meet our Expert: Paul

Mondays with Mila

Good morning and Happy Monday! Before I slip on my brand new sundress and sandals (too soon?) and head to the studio, I want to share these tips from our very own beauty expert, Paul. Grab some cash on the way out the door, because you will be popping by Sephora for a few new favorites..

What should every woman have?

A great product for any women to have is a Mason Pearson Brush, it’s the best brush that distribute your natural oils while exfoliating the scalp and stimulating circulation.

What is your favorite hair/makeup trend for spring/summer 2014?

This season I am into softly swept chignons or loose waves with subtly smoky eyes and a rich lip. Try using some Oribe Foundation Mist with an Enzo Milano La Vida curling wand to recreate some fun runway looks or to simply help tame any unwanted flyway’s.

What is your all time favorite bridal look?

Hair styled half up is a great bridal look that keeps fussing to a
minimum while still allowing you to feel comfortable and like yourself. Paired with a few individual lashes, a softly lined eye (Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Bourbon) and nude lip (Bobbi Brown #52 Uber Beige) is always a classic look.

What is the most versatile product you have in your kit?

Either my Bumble and Bumble Straight Blow Dry Balm that gives hair a sleek and shiny finish or my Wella Ocean Spritz that gives a great matte undone-done look.

What is the most common hair/makeup mistakes you see women make?

Too much product can definitely be a mistake with hair and makeup, but not enough can be too. Get comfortable and experiment with some different hair and makeup looks, don’t always play it safe.

What was the most memorable moment of your career?

Getting the opportunity to style for project runway and see my work on tv.

Who and what inspires you?

Fashion! I’m always pulling inspiration from the feel of a garment since an outfit tends to dictate hair and makeup choices. Some of my favorite trendsetters would be Jessica Alba, Carrie Underwood, and Lauren Conrad to name a few.
